Hey Community 👋

National Pet Month is a time to think about how much joy our pets bring us and how to take the best care of them.
It's also a time to help animals who don't have homes yet, maybe by thinking about adopting a pet or helping animal charities.

So, basically, it's a whole month dedicated to loving and caring for our furry, scaly, and feathered companions 🐕

National Pet Month is observed during the month of April. It is coordinated by the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) and the Pet Food Manufacturers' Association (PFMA). The campaign aims to:

• Promote the benefits of pet ownership 🐇
• Support pet adoption from shelters and rescue organisations 😻
• Increase awareness of the positive impact pets have on people's lives and vice versa.
• Educating current and potential owners about the commitment, care, and welfare needs of pets. This includes highlighting the five key welfare needs: companionship, behaviour, diet, health, and environment.
• Highlight the services provided by professionals who work with animals.
• Encourage fundraising for UK pet welfare charities and organisations 🦉

During April, you'll often see events and campaigns across the UK organised by individuals, animal welfare charities, pet businesses, schools, and youth groups to celebrate pets and raise awareness about their needs.

@Poppy_EONNext That is one handsome kitty! This is Mr Dorian Scraggles (The cat 😂) My beautiful boy Thorn and I did have an elderly snake that I adopted who was around 17 years old 💜

This was my cat Angie, contemplating whether to get up or not.



This is Hugo, he's not mine but I look after him once a week. I took this in the Lake District in December 23 when they'd had a large dump of snow up there.

We fostered a guide dog a couple of years back now, she was the sweetest. This was her home whilst she was in training, it gave us an idea of caring for a dog while also supporting our local guide dog centre 🐶 We are thinking of getting our own dog soon though 🤗

I currently don't have any pets myself, as I can't imagine looking after 2 children and pets!

But a few years ago when my daughter was around 2/3 we did have 2 fish 🐟

Waking up one morning we noticed they had then had babies 🤭

This is Maxwell (Max) I think most of our members have met this wee guy as I post him a lot 😂 If you ever see some gobbledy gook on the forum by me it's likely just Max trying to tell the world I'm a bad cat mum as I've hidden the treats! As you can see he loves the spotlight and often types random messages with his bottom!



We also have some lambs in the field out the back they don't belong to us but I am claiming them as my temporary pets as they are very cute and such fun to watch!

Alan is 5 and Walter is 10.

Alan is a little pocket rocket and Walter just want's to eat and sleep all day 🤣

My cat would often jump up onto my laptop, curl up and go to sleep. You soon learn to stop doing anything important when the cat appears.
