NEW Next drive fixed V6 is now live!
-
@DebF_EONNext thanks for the reply I am now live on next drive v6 set up and running as of yesterday. I hope I will be able to stay on this now as it’s fixed for the next 12 months. But what happens after the 12 months is up. I did contact customer services via a phone call and they said that this was still available to customers with solar and battery but no ev. Thanks again ADO

Just had a message from E.ON stating that they have no engineers available until the end of April to fix the comms error with my SMART meters - so I requested the V6 tariff at the end of February, had the meters installed and not working at the end of March, maybe get them fully commissioned by the end of April. I appreciate if there's no engineers available there's not much can be done, but does the 12 month fixed tariff run from the point of request, or the point of transfer? At present I'm still on Next Flex.

@Doive
You absolutely need to raise a complaint.
With the switch OFF of RTS switching this summer, a very large number of customers are needing their meters swapped and this is doubtless adding to installation/repair delays.
In hindsight perhaps it wasn't a good idea for Eon Next to launch a technically complex tariff at this time.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
They won't be able to back date your billing to the point of request, since they have no way of measuring how much usage was on the cheap rate and how much was on the daytime rate.
So unfortunately you'll be on Next Flex until they get your meters working - it would be a nice gesture if they gave a monetary refund, but don't really see that happening 😕Last edited by geoffers; 1 Week Ago at 17:22.

@geoffers
don’t the meters store the data long term? Once the comms are resolved ( IF) then might the historic data become available?
if it did, correction to previously billed energy at the incorrect tariff pricing would then become possible. So perhaps there is still hope. -
I can actually see ½ hourly readings going back to July 2022 when I was still with BG... (I didn't start with EOn Next Drive until July 2023)
The meters themselves apparently store around 13months of historic data, so I reckon that having registered with Bright : Glowmarkt themselves must retain your data from the 13months prior to that joining date (otherwise I'd only be seeing 13 mths of data starting from around March 2024 until now)
My clever python/mySQL database on the raspberryPi can instantly produce any monthly bills I want to generate since that date (including ones for BG) 😎 ... whether EOn can easily do this themselves I don't know 🤔

Thank you both for your advice and wisdom 😎 in my professional life I have installed and commissioned meters for generation connections within substations at 11kV and 33kV - I know the pain of getting meters to talk to the world! The installer, once he appreciated my technical background, explained in detail what and where the problem is. His hands were tied by officialdom and process, a request for a subsequent visit has to go back into the sausage machine, and 29th April is the next available slot. It's a thought on the historical data, but I'd prefer it if the 12 months tariff would start from the point of fully commissioned meters, as then I would fully commission my own battery storage to take advantage of the cheap overnight tariff - at the moment there's no point, as the day and night rates are the same. It's frustrating it's taken so long.

@DebF_EONNext I see that Next Drive V7 has been released, could you tell me if Solar storage customers (No EV) would be allowed to move to that tariff - thanks

@HelenaP_EONNext
It would be great to get clarity on v7 as the T&Cs from April 10th do not say solar storage is allowed but the text on the tariff when applying says it does.
To be eligible, you must own or lease an electric/hybrid vehicle, or have a solar storage system, pay by direct debit have a working smart meter and consent to half hourly data collection so we can bill you accurately and pay the markets for the energy you've used.
