Each month I receive my gas and electricity statement. This month's statement only shows gas alone, no electricity. The transactions show last D.D. payment, gas charges and account credit. No electricity.
I have both gas and electric "smart" meters. Any idea why the electricity statement is missing?
I have to assume readings are being sent because the gas meter sends them to the electric meter before submitting them. i.e. the electricity meter must be communicating with the mothership.
@oldagetraveller - I get this occasionally : I think sometimes the elec. smart readings aren't available when the statement is produced, so you get gas only, then the electricity turns up a couple of days later.
If not, a quick phone call to CS normally gets the ele. statement produced (some will say add a manual reading to generate the bill, but I can't do that as I'm on ToU readings)
Technically, the data goes from the meters to the communications hub that sits on top of the electric meter and thence onto the DCC. But readings have to be requested by your supplier, and so for it all to work a request is sent via the DCC and your comms hub to the meter and then the required information follows the reverse path back to your supplier. A glitch somewhere will result in no reading, and so a repeat is needed.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
It does somewhat depend on the tariff(s) and what smart meter data eon are using. Gas is daily (end of day) at worst, and maybe just end of month (Using average calorific value) , in which case two readings are all they need. Electricity may require hh data to sort out fancy tariffs, and they may even do E7 that way, in which case one missing hh data point screws up the whole bill.
I am sorry to hear you haven't received your electricity statement and I can see our lovely Hems have stepped in, as it may just be we haven't received your electricity data to issue a statement.
Fingers crossed it is just a quick fix when raising it with our customer services team. 😊 Please find ways to contact us here How to contact E.ON Next
