Hello.
I am in the process of procuring EV vehicle tomorrow (8 December) and moved my tariff plan to Next Drive fixed v5. The changeover to new plan is scheduled today 7-December midnight. Smart meter installed by Eon.
queries below needing advise:
- since the vehicle should be charged midnight until early morning to utilise cheaper fare, is ‘Eon next home’ the correct app to use?
- if yes, will the access to this app be granted only after the new tariff is activated today midnight?
- EV charger is ‘Ohme’ make installed by Octopus - I presume this should not be an issue from compatibility issue?
appreciate your time to share clarifications if possible today please?
thank you,
Sam

Reason: Further clarifying my queries
I appreciate that this is an older thread and you will have switched by now, I hope it all went smoothly? I just wanted to pop you an answer to this as it might help someone in the future.
1. You would be able to use the E.ON Next home app however you need to wait until you receive an invite for this.
2. An invite code is usually sent to customers who are eligible for the E.ON Next Home app and it can take up to 3-4 weeks to receive this after being switched to the EV tariff however if you don't receive an invite after 4 weeks then get in touch with an energy specialist and they will be able to chase this up for you.
3. I don't think your charger being installed by Octopus will make any difference but I have checked this with the EV team and I will update this thread once I have this info!

Is the EON Next home app working now?
I was told on the 7th Feb 2025 that "The EV team have advised that they have spoken with the app team and a new invite will be sent out to you once the app has been sorted out as we've had issues with the app." so far nothing which is not surprising really
The EV team recently advised the invites for the app have stopped due to web limitations. They are currently working on a fix as we speak and as soon as the issue is fixed invites will start being released again to which you should receive an email.
If there is anything else you need please let me know 😊
