I'm looking at changing heating from gas to electric, going ALL electric.
Does anyone know the procedure for capping the gas meter and changing to single fuel tariff?
Sure thing. I've actually got a guide from my friend Blastoise186 in case that helps.
What you'll want to do, is contact customer service and inform them you wish to disconnect your gas supply permanently. That should set the wheels in motion and trigger a bunch of processes to get the supply disconnected and a final bill issued - your account will be converted to Electric Only automatically once the final gas bill has been paid off in full. Internal pipework will not be removed by E.On Next but your Gas Transporter can look at removing external pipework on request. If you'd like the internal pipework gone as well, I'd suggest talking to a Gas Safe Registered Engineer for advice.
