If eon are going to do this then what is the point of setting fingerprint login? To me the whole idea of that is so you don't need to trudge through the login details process every time.
e.onnext keeps logging me out of the app "for your security"

I log in to the app no problem, set fingerprint login then the next time I try to use the app, maybe a few days or a week later, I get the message saying I have been logged out for security reasons, meaning I have to input my details all over again.

That sort of thing used to happen with me a lot, but was fixed a long time ago so maybe your version hasn't been updated on your phone - current version is 1.12.6136
I never log out, and it just prompts me to use the fingerprint next time I use it (though I haven't left it for weeks between logins, so it's conceivable that they do force a logoff if not accessed for a while)Last edited by geoffers; 4 Weeks Ago at 17:31.

@Davy
Are you logging out of the app yourself after using it or do you just close it?
I log out every time and then it allows me to use fingerprint when I want to log back in.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
@JoeSoap I just close it. If I go back to the app typically in the same day it says welcome back, which maybe suggests that it is happy with people just closing it. It seems to be after longer periods it decides to log me out.
I'll certainly try your way if need be and see how I get on. Thanks for your reply. -
@geoffers My version is the one you quote.
Interesting that you say you don't log out but Joe Soap says he does.
I've seen app issues generally in the past where it has been down to the phone make.
I use a Google Pixel 7. -
Hello @Davy - Are you still having issues with this? An update would be great if you have one 😁🌳Together we can work to achieve a more sustainable Future 🌳

@Connor_EONNext Hello Connor, I rechecked things before replying and it is not doing what I think it should be, ie I exit the app without logging off then getting prompted with the fingerprint login next time I open it again ( as per @geoffers experience above) .
I tried what @JoeSoap said, ie log out each session before closing the app, and when I open the app later, even the next day, I get the prompt giving me the choice to use fingerprint, but I say I shouldn't need to log out each time I use the app.
When I exit the app without logging out then open the app later the same day, I get straight back in, even without needing to use fingerprint, but when I close the app and open it the next day I must input my login details again every time, which is what I am saying shouldn't have to be done.
There were 2 I think app updates over the last week or two but my problem persists. I am now on version v1.12.6832

@Davy - what phone/Android version are you running on?
Mr current phone where the App functions correctly is running Android-14
However, I've also side-loaded the app on an old phone (which on PlayStore won't load, as EOn says it is unsupported - this is running LineageOS Android-11) and it does show the "login every time and reselect fingerprint" behaviour
So my guess is that it's hardware/OS version related, meaning it works OK for the majority of users but fails for a few.
However this is still a fault in some aspect of the implementation of the EOn app, since it's only EOn app which displays this problem - I've never seen anything like this behaviour with any other apps 🥴

@geoffers Yes, Pixel 7 about a year or so old. Android 15.
So I don't think my phone is too old yet!
Hope Hope they update the app to cure this. -
I've just gone into "app info" and selected "clear data" which resets all settings to initial state, meaning I had to login & accept fingerprint login when I opened the app the first time, but it remembers the settings for subsequent usage.
