@Davy - might be worth checking whether you have got the latest version of the app.
That sort of thing used to happen with me a lot, but was fixed a long time ago so maybe your version hasn't been updated on your phone - current version is 1.12.6136
I never log out, and it just prompts me to use the fingerprint next time I use it (though I haven't left it for weeks between logins, so it's conceivable that they do force a logoff if not accessed for a while)
@JoeSoap I just close it. If I go back to the app typically in the same day it says welcome back, which maybe suggests that it is happy with people just closing it. It seems to be after longer periods it decides to log me out.
I'll certainly try your way if need be and see how I get on. Thanks for your reply.

Interesting that you say you don't log out but Joe Soap says he does.
I've seen app issues generally in the past where it has been down to the phone make.
I use a Google Pixel 7.
