@meldrewreborn No, this was many moons ago, two day hangovers are not something I enjoy. Those old pressure cookers, I still see to this day in some kitchens, id imagine they have been upgraded some what?

Very popular in rural parts like round here, but usually fuelled by heating oil. Unless of course you have an Esse 'Ironheart' which is the wood-burning variety.
Two hobs, a firebox and an oven. When I first moved to Wales, this was not only for cooking but for keeping the place warm.

Christmas for me is all about my children. Going to the nativity play at school along with a couple of visits to Santa and watching him locally go around on his sleigh. And of course mulled wine. 🍷
We also enjoy meeting up with friends and family on Christmas eve before the big day. On the day it is usually an early start with an eager 6 year old wanting to see if Santa has been!I always cook as I am quite fussy when it comes to Christmas dinner it has to be right! Lots of laughter and games and family time it really is my favourite day! 🦃
@Indyk_EONNext we do reverse advent where each day we add food to a box to donate to our local food bank. We live in a tiny village with less than 700 people and in December 2023 alone they had 34 referrals for the food bank just from our village 😥 It makes me sad to think of people struggling at anytime but more so at this time of year.
We have a quiet Christmas day at home which is always nice, we usually go visiting on boxing day!

My Christmas is a quiet one with just my little family and we then go and visit the rest of my family in London after Christmas and we either go to Blackpool to see the rest of my family around October and exchange gifts or they come to us so this usually means our Xmas tree is up from October! 🎄Which is a tradition that I've kept up in honour of my nana who loved Christmas and was always super organised and had to have the tree up by October 'just inc case' 😉for any visits and all the gifts wrapped and ready to swap.
The run up to Christmas is deffo full of arts and crafts with my little one, a visit to Santa and a visit to a new garden centre to by a new decoration and Xmas even we'll bake cookies for Santa 🎅
