?faulty smart meter
-
Solar system fitted and 3 days laterEON fitted smart meter. Previous daily usage 10-25kwhr, smart meter reading 20-30 kwhr. Assuming a faulty meter and no change in usage and we have the solar system. Complained to EON and still waiting for a date for an engineer - nearly 2 weeks now. Very concerning any advice greatly received.

@Kaw - advice, as always with these complaints is download the Bright app - register your meters with the app then you can view your usage graphically.
Once your meters are registered you will be able to directly download your usage (choose the granularity you require ie ½hourly; daily etc) in CSV format from the meter - around 13 months worth of data stored on the meter - from their parent website glowmarkt.com
Hope this helps 👍 -

@geoffers Thankyou I’ll do this tonight. Also just looking at the smart meter, kettle and dishwasher on but no red light flashing to show any usage.

Which indicates you are not importing anything, but the solar or battery is providing the power 👍Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
Last night we did a complete shutdown of all the circuits. We switched each one back on for 30 mins and recorded the reading. Nothing untoward, however before I switched them all off the red light was flashing constantly and didn’t stop until I switched the Solar system off. I left the solar system off for 21hrs and the useage in kWh over 21hrs is reading 4, as opposed to 30+ when it’s on.
I’ve also had an email from the smart team saying they are looking into our complaint now, shall I give them all the information I have or wait many thanks -
@Kaw Hey, can I just ask if all of the information above is from the IHD?
Not all IHD's are compatible with solar, the only one off the top of my head is the Ivie, which would only show if your 'net exporting' The system would also need to be installed/set up to be compatible.
I would definitely get the installer out to check the system, just to tick that box off. I've reached out to someone just to see if this could be a case of export being added to the import read - The last time I had this the customers system was faulty however this is not saying it could be that this time, we're not solar installers here so it's worth contacting the installer for sure.
As soon as i have some more details, I will come back to you.
