how much does the electricity increase? Is it a combi boiler (might have a mega flow tank) or a system boiler ( the latter has a standard water storage tank). Pictures might help if you are unsure.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

That's confused me. Surely a combi boiler does not have a storage tank and either a system boiler or a heat-only boiler can be used to heat the water going to a Mega Flo tank 🤔
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I have a heat-only boiler with a pump in the airing cupboard next to the Mega Flo cylinder. The boiler is currently firing and the pump is running and my total cost per hour is 12p at around 400w (the washing machine is currently on). I think the pump is only about 45w so something is amiss. You would have to be consuming about 3kW to use an extra 93p/hr.
I would do as @geoffers suggests and see if you have an immersion heater switched on. Mine is just switched by standard wall switch inside the airing cupboard.
the notion that with a combi you don’t need a hot water storage tank didn’t last too long when faced with modern family living. So systems got adapted. One reason why I don’t have a combi - another is that my boiler will be 36 years old this year, the third is that my storage tank is needed for my solar thermal panel.
but getting back to the matter at hand, if the mega flow has a pumped supply to the taps then that’s one reason, a second would be in the mega flow reacts instantly to recharge the store by running the boiler with a pumped circulation system.
I’ve never had a mega flow so don’t fully understand their operation , but have always thought them a triumph of engineering over day to day necessity.

I always stand to be corrected but I think you can get combi boilers with a small storage tank on-board but I think it would be odd to have one feeding a cylinder. I did extensive research into my Mega Flo when I was getting hot water flowing through my cold taps for several seconds before they ran cold after I had regenerated the air gap... something that you should do annually and I must get around to soon. I found that more modern systems had a PRV/NRV in a place where mine didn't and I could see that that would solve my problem. I got a suitably qualified (unvented system) plumber to check my logic and fit the new component. Bye bye hot water from cold taps.
PS... my Mega Flo is fed from mains inlet water and the only pump is to circulate boiler-heated water to the coil.
