Something seriously wrong here with the additional information provided. I suspect a total corruption of the account and why did the E7 disappear.
my advice : make a complaint now and contact customer services next week.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Thank you for pointing out the other thread, which perhaps explains why E7 got stopped. There seems to be two wildly varying visions of what the consumption really is - I’m wondering if confusion over R1 and R2 might be behind it.
Perhaps best left to to @Anasa_EONNext to take the lead on , the reasons behind this are probably obvious in the end , getting there likely torturous. @Anasa_EONNext

It sounds like something we can get to the bottom of and would require me to look into the account further. Did you ever get an explanation from an energy specialist?

No not too many of them around here. I just want to know why my direct Debit has jumped to £288 from £77 when everything seemed OK
before. OK so I'm about £26 in debt so why do I have to suddenly start paying £288 per month starting March 1?
I will be ringing eonnext and listening to music for ages tomorrow but I didn't want to spend all weekend worrying about what's
going on. No hope on that one really. From what I can gather I have had this credit meter about 4 months and although I have been sending
regular readings my fixed £77 has been slowly bringing the debt down. Now all of a sudden they want to increase my DD to £288 per month,
which is a very steep increase indeed. This is because they are using estimates for a year which are way off. I was told before that after 12 months of
readings their estimates will be correct but that means me paying well over the top right now just as I am about to lose my job.
Obviously I don't want that, and maybe I could change my DD to variable rather than fixed ? I understand then that eonnext have to use the readings
they are given not way way out estimates. Could you tell me how to go about changing my DD to variable ? Its not possible on the website from what
I can gather.
By the way I am getting a Smart meter on February 9th, will this give me the option of switching to pay as you go or will I be stuck on a fixed DD
unless I change to variable ?
Could you tell me how to go about changing my DD to variable?
You need to speak to customer service and ask them to switch you to a monthly Variable Direct Debit. No more fixed monthly DD that is way above what it should be. As long as you appreciate that you will pay more in winter months due to expected higher usage.
@Mailman pays this way and is very happy with it.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@JoeSoap
Yes I think that's the way to go. I would be happy paying like that, I did before. I mean, it's obvious it will be more in winter and what's
wrong with that ? I will ring them tomorrow and switch to variable DD. I am getting a Smart meter fitted feb 9 (2024), not sure if that changes
things but variable DD I will stick with by the sound of it.
Getting a smart meter won't change the way you pay. It just means you won't, or shouldn't, have to submit monthly readings once it is up and running as they will be taken automatically. You still need to keep an eye on your account, especially in the first couple of months, to ensure the readings are being taken. If not, you can submit manual readings in the usual way to keep things up to date.
The energy specialists that @Anasa_EONNext is referring to are the Eon Next Customer Service Advisors. They have a fancy job title. You will speak to one tomorrow when you phone customer service.
