Just signed up to an event for this evening 5.30 to 6.30. I’ll spring it on them at 5.29 😂
I might be in.....
But not with Eon Next. There were problems registering initially (I thought I had registered but I hadn't) which led me to going via USwitch (The Utrack Money Back session as it is called). I hope that the initial snafu has not caused me further issues but I shall find out in due course if NGESO have thrown me out of all participation.
The spreadsheet has worked out 10 days worth of data for the 1730-1830 slot. Baseline for said period appears to be 1.05kWh so dinner about to be served (before 1730) and other stuff will be turned off for an hour (Fridge/Central Heating etc) - watching TV on the PC. If I achieve 20% reduction that will be worth the princely sum of 63p. Perhaps 50% is quite possible this evening. The kicker though is a £10 additional carrot from USwitch if I participate in an event before 31st January. I am not expecting anything but you never know. 'I started off with nothing and got most of it left' as per Seasick Steve.
@Mailman @JoeSoap Good luck! I'm also taking part in this one and literally announced it to the house hold at 5.29! Had some very strange looks from the little one when the TV went off! 🤣

I hope you’re in 🤞and get the £10 bonus. That would make up nicely for the ones you’ve missed so far 👍

Good luck to you too. I daren’t switch the TV off but apart from that, a few lights and the gas CH… anything’s game tonight 😂
Fridge and or Freezer (don't forget to turn them on again!!) and turn off from the mains anything with a red standby light on - TV's Satellite or cable boxes cordless phone chargers.. Also don't use anything like washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, oven hob..
It would be easier to turn off the main switch at the fuse box and go for a long walk or drive to your local!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
For the event I used circa 0.183kWh v my baseline of 1.05kWh so a reduction clearly in excess of 20% - actual reduction = 0.867 than multiply that by £3/kWh saving = £2.60 ish. Will now await notifications from Utrack to see if my household has not been thrown out. 😎
