Just a quick update. The good news is that the IHD continues to show both gas & electric data. The not so good news is that the old gas tariff remains. I've contacted EON to get this sorted so let's see how long that takes.. Again, I've checked my account online and that's showing the correct tariffs, so some good news there.😊
Smart meter - no gas display.

@SmoothJazz Having the same problem. Just phoned them but it appears EON don't control this part of the business. I was offered a new smart meter for £49.00. I have told the call centre that I was considering. taking my business elsewhere, the reply to that is it that they couldn't care less.

@SmoothJazz This is a common theme that we have seen over the last few months. Another member @JoeSoap had this for a while and it turned out that the issue wasn't the IHD, it was an issue between the system and meter.
Does your meter show the same rates as the IHD or are these different?Have a solar related question? Pop me a tag! Need our customer service teams? Click here! 📣 for ways to contact us -
@LeeDQ_EONNext As far as I can tell, the gas meter only shows the readings for accumulated kWh (which matches the IHD) but not the actual unit rate.

@SmoothJazz
You know your tariff rates. You know your standing charges. With those two pieces of information, a pencil and a piece of paper and your kWh readings, you can easily work out your costs. Not ideal, and one would hope the IHD could do it for you, but sadly that is often not the case.
But for those of us who haven't got smart meters, it's how we've always done things.Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
@retrotecchie
Thank you for your input. You're quite correct, I do know my tariff rates and standing charges as all of these are on both the IHD and my online account so working out the costs are as you say, quite easy. In fact, my IHD does actually do this for me although sometimes I tend to do the maths in my head. So much easier, quicker and usually quite accurate. My original problem seems to have been resolved. The IHD now displays the gas part of my energy. The only 'niggle' is the tariff rate has yet to be updated on the IHD to reflect the revised rate. It's not a big issue but nice to have it right. If in the future the IHD died, I can always read off my consumption readings from both meters outdoors and submit online, just like as you say, how we always did it.
