Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
This may be the 5th time I’ve tried to post this but I seem as cr*p at using this forum as I am reading the meter!!!
Thank you so much for taking time out of your weekend to help me. I now have my night meter reading.
I don’t get why they give you a brochure to use the smart meter, which is fairly user friendly but tell you you’ll have to read the night meter yourself from the main meter and not explain how.
Thanks for restoring my sanity, I’ve had the same issue with Octopus since June (Octopus meter was left in dangerous condition by their fitter) gave up with them because they were so hopeless, switched to eon had the new meter fitted - same problem 🤯 So thank you again this is the first time since June that I’ve been able to ‘see’ my night usage.
What infuriated me was the patronising YouTube video that only explained how to find your meter / what one looks like and what a decimal place is. I think it was created for the under 5’s. Anything more complex, forget it you’re on your own 🤯🤬

Well done for navigating to the readings. Just looking at the instructions in the link @geoffers posted and the instructions @retrotecchie posted would have made me nervous of trying to get to the right screen. Glad it's all sorted 👍
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I suspect designed by a committee, with none of the participants being a typical end user. But notice how there's another 'funny' on those Kaifa meters. The impulse lights operate on 2000 flashes per kWh rather than the more common standard of 1000 flashes per kWh. In theory then, using an optical coupler to my home brew smart metering, it should be possible to resolve consumption down to the nearest half a watt. But it makes a meter sanity test harder to do with the Mk1 eyeball, albeit a bit more accurate.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
