Same here. That Aladdin looks a fancy one though. Ours was like a light green cylinder thing with the paraffin tank at the bottom. It had a wire handle that you could swing up to carry it about.
@WizzyWigg I remember only having two telly channels, BBC and ITV, and programmes started around noon and finished maybe ten (ish) at night when the picture disappeared to a little dot and there was a high pitched whistle to wake you up to switch it off π
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I can remember ITV starting, in 55. Didn't know that the progs started so early in the day. Saying that we wouldn't have been allowed to watch at that time of day anyway. π³.

My memory tells me they started around that time. I remember ITV kicked off the day with lots and lots of adverts at around 11am and I used to sit and watch them. Now I do anything to avoid them π
@geoffers
I remember having one of these in the kitchen and bathroom. π³
Haha⦠we used to call that the geyser. Even in the late sixties our only source of water was one cold tap in the kitchen. Our only hot water was from the geyser or the kettle. It took ages to fill the zinc bath that hung outside the back door.
