We`re on the Next Drive tariff for our electric car, where we get cheaper(9.5p kwh) electric between 12.00 and 07.00.
We`ve got a Smartview 2 meter, but it doesn`t recognise the different tariffs,so it still shows the normal price for electric all the time,I`ve spoken to customer services and was told there`s no way I can see the cheaper rates on the "Smart" meter, apparently they can`t see it "At their end".
So how do I know I`m actually getting the cheaper rate overnight ?
And why can`t the machine split the tariffs,if that`s what I`m actually getting ?
I don’t think your Smartview IHD is that smart. I’m sure your bills will be as they should be. I will tag @geoffers who has much knowledge on this and can hopefully advise.

Reason: Corrected typo
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Hi,thanks for that, had a look through the other threads,so basically the IHD is anything but smart, totally useless, and we may even be getting "Skanked" an hour because of the clocks changing.
What are these apps called that were being used ?
Just wondered if all the suppliers are the same when it comes to split tariffs,I mean, how difficult can it be to show customers what they are actually getting charged,I thought that was the whole point of having a smart meter,so you can see what you are using in real time.
Try downloading the Hildebrand Bright app. As long as your meters are set to half-hourly data, which I think they will be, you will get a full breakdown of consumption that you can apply your tariff to in order to get a good idea of actual costs. The app can take a few hours to populate and the data (which goes back a year or so) is normally only ever a day out of date.
The supplier doesn't have a lot of control over the smart metering technicalities. They are imposed on the industry by government, technically up to the job but managed by a government controlled private contractor which has proven itself to be not fit for purpose, and anything but transparent.
Before energy companies can sort out the niggles with these advanced and complex schemes, it would be good if the DCC could make the 'basics' work in a reliable and consistent manner. Don't hold your breath on that.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I don't think you can blame the DCC for everything - maybe the government: yes!
From what I see in my limited recent experience of smart meters is that there must initially have been an open market free-for-all, with individual energy suppliers installing whatever meter suited them.
Hence there are so many different makes and models of meters out there working slightly differently, rather than a strict installation standard having been implemented in the first place. Must be a nightmare to maintain, as we can see!
In my case my Landis+Gyr meter isn't showing dual rates for the Next Drive tariff.
However I've come across a posting on the OVO energy website which suggests that there's a single rate-version and a dual-rate version of the same meter, so if I've got the single rate meter that could be the problem, and we can't really blame EON or the DCC for whoever specified the initial install of my meter.
If you’ve got a single rate meter, you may notice that you’re reading is already showing on the default meter screen.
If you’ve got a dual rate version of this meter press and hold down the ‘B’ button for roughly 5 - 10 seconds - then tap the ‘A’ button. This will toggle between the ‘R01’ reading and the ‘R02’ reading as demonstrated in this handy video: https://youtube.com/shorts/Y6uegO688PQ?si=npc_2IRZly_URvDZ
