You'll definitely need this 😵, this time. Who says lightening doesn't strike twice etc!!!! If you were going to attempt it I would suggest doing on this Friday coming 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Yep, next Friday looks good 👍😂
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
.. So my take on @JoeSoap 's problem would be that for the period the meter stopped working, the readings were never stored in the buffer so can never be recovered.
I don’t think my meters ever stopped working. I think the problem was elsewhere. If that missing data is in there then it would be good to get it out before it disappears 🤞
The buffer is a hardware function of the meter itself. Joe's meter was working just fine but not talking to anyone so in theory that data is still in there somewhere. But a standard read would only pull data stored since the last successful read. I'm sure there must be a command to pull the entire buffer as a solid block of data, but that would be a special command rather than a routine one, and even so, whether Bright or Eon have the ability to parse the whole file and repopulate blanks in the historic data is another matter entirely.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Apparently the meters hold 13 months of data, so the missing data should be there. As you can see from his post above, @WizzyWigg suggested requesting a SMETS command that can retrieve that data (I think). For obvious reasons, I’m reluctant to do it. I’m waiting for Wizzy to try to get his data gaps populated first 😂
your consumption @ 12kWh per day is quite high (we’ve discussed that before I think) but quite consistent. Is the missing data that important, or is it time to quit while you’re ahead? Your reluctance to request another SMETS command is entirely rational.
Sometimes though when I’ve been messed about by a company my antipathy leads me to retaliate by making their life’s as difficult as I can, O2 are currently in my sights as 12 working days have elapsed since I raised my complaint and nil response so far.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Ah, so there may not even be a way to get my missing data into Bright or something similar. Maybe I better quit barking up that particular tree 😂

You're correct 👍... my consumption is quite high but I have just looked at my bill for 6 Oct 21 and my average daily consumption over the 23 day period of the bill is 16.89kWh so I've made decent progress in getting it down. Some family habits are more difficult to stop than others so I don't expect to cut the consumption much further, if at all. I intend to maintain things though.
The missing data isn't that important but it's nice to have it easily accessible for quick day to day comparison purposes. Given my background as an Apple Developer 😂 you may be surprised to know that I don't feel competent enough to use computer spreadsheets. I use info from the IHD, Bright and ultimately my bills to produce handwritten ones for my comparisons.
I had thought there was a SMETS command that would do the job of filling in the data gaps if I requested it be done. Now it seems that might not be the case. I am now going to give up that hope and quit while I'm ahead... as you questioned. You never know, the data might appear one day just as my meters started working again, with no explanation 🤞
For completeness, I have received an email at 12.45 informing me my energy statement is now available. So there it is. My smart meters are working as they should again and my tariffs therein are correct. I shall now leave things be... unless of course 🤔🤣
@JoeSoap perhaps @retrotecchie could install some additional metering for those family members who are unwilling to embrace the cost reduction programme?
It certainly worked for me when I had teenogres in the house! Of course, rather than deduct their allowance for excess consumption, I should have imposed daily quotas with a cutoff if they exceeded 3kWh per day. Or introduced a system of 'kWh credits' so the boys could trade between each other. I'm sure one would have traded an hour on his X box if, for example, his brother tidied his bedroom for him 🤣🤣🤣

There's a thought 🤔 Actually, they've embraced the reductions really well. I just think we've picked the low hanging fruit and gone as far as leaves us still comfortable. No hair shirts here 😂
