I think you might have it. 😲. Probably not the complete answer. A couple of times when I rushed to log into my account I've had that error. If I'm more chilled there's no problem. It'll be interesting to see how @Mailman gets on 🕵️♂️.
We're having problems logging you in.

I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

@JoeSoap
Indeed.
Another 'funny' I've found with the online account, but probably not related to logins.
Looking at my Messages, I just had a meter reading reminder. Well, obviously I'm going to read my meter at 00.01 on 01July so the reading is accurate at the price chaange point.
Embedded in the message was this little gem I'd not spotted before:
Balance History? New one on me. It's not a menu option anywhere else in the account. So I clicked on it, and just got an error message:
The other thing I noticed the other day and mentioned before, is that when I try to read a pdf attachment to a message from within the account, it doesn't work.
I recently had a message about my price changes, but when I clicked on the link to open the actual PDF, all that opened was an error message:
The only 'human readable' part of the message I have had to redact is the account number, which is clearly used as a path to the missing pdf, generated on a per customer basis.
This was a little annoying as it meant I had to revert to last century's technology and dig through my emails to find the email from EON.Next. The attachment to the email opened the PDF perfectly fine. I just wonder why it didn't open properly from the My Messages section of the account?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
@retrotecchie
I've just tried the balance history link from the recent V4 email took me to the payment transaction page of my online account. 🤔 Ok it does sort of show you the history.
As for the pdf side the copy of the T&Cs for V4 sent via the confirmation email refused to open. Error message said could not be opened on this device. When I went to messages in my online account on the same device it opened perfectly. 🤔 This was on my Amazonian tablet. -
@retrotecchie
I got exactly the same errors in the 'My Messages' on my account, and had to refer back to the price changes email, so it must be the same for most customers. -
Mixed results really. I cannot say for sure what is going on other than it might be seen as the end of the earth for some of Eon Next's customers to mild bewilderment for others (such as myself).
I can get online easily enough using some of the ideas already mentioned in this thread BUT suffice to say this is the only website I have any sort of difficulty with the login process.
Perhaps some of those Eon staff, who are customers of Eon Next as well, can and should be able to replicate the issues described easily enough and ask their backend staff to investigate further as I think you have done. Something has changed at some point. -
@Mailman
Thank you so much for this information. I'll just give the nudge to @DebF_EONNext and @Anasa_EONNext . 👍🕵
Over the weekend I've tried hard to generate the problem again on Android, Linux, and MacOS using Chrome, Safari, Silk and Brave to no avail. Both on Wi-Fi and 4G. Even resorted to my little headless Pi3 using VNC on Wi-Fi. Nothing. I've only found the problem twice with myself. I must be one of the luckier ones.
Definitely agree something has changed. I feel it's connected to some of the new security updates. I think of your idea about the Eon staff, if they haven't already, is a good one 👍.
Strangely strange. 👽 -
@Mailman Thank you for this! I'll up date my findings and pass on this feedback as we can certainly see something has changed and we need to get this looked at straight away. The more cases we get the more it'll become a known issue and an all over fix to be preformed. They are tinkering away in the background so hopefully it'll work itself out 🤞We're here to make sure that it does get fixed and not drag on for months with customers thinking 'maybe it's just them, maybe it's a one off'😊'The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members’

Morning all - I was directed to this thread by @WizzyWigg (thanks 😉) so thought I'd update this mornings trials! Using the iOS app went to log in but the error came up 'too many requests'. Tried again, same thing. Third attempt I had to do a Captcha, same error after completing that, and two more Captcha's before I finally got in. Logged into my account on my PC and got in first time.
This makes me wonder if the too many requests is possibly too many people trying to log in at the same time, rather than me personally making too many requests?
Also, is anyone using the app on iOS able to use Face ID login? Everytime I log in on my phone I have to use username and password, it then asks if I want to use Face ID, which I agree to, the Face ID comes up and scans my face, but the next time I go to log in, I again have to use username and password -
