I think that Eon Next are cheating their customers and Energy Shift is a CON and has been a CON since day one. On 15/11/2022 I could earn around Β£3.72 by using under 1.03kWh which I achieved but they say I failed and won't pay up.
I have tried to address here why your rewards for previous events were higher than anticipated or lower than anticipated (or even none as per 15/11/22). Some customers have seemingly indicated a positive response to Eon Next binning IDA (in day adjustment) but others like myself have been somewhat critical. To use your language either DFS was a CON by Eon Next at the start of DFS or it was a CON since February when the goalposts were changed for reasons given elsewhere. It cannot be both surely?
Next winter, if Eon Next continues with the same implementation of the rewards element of DFS (which we now know about), I shall participate via the numerous apps such as Bright, Hugo, Loop or might consider jumping ship to a more generous supplier (Octopus or even now BG) that currently does use IDA (if this aspect is still part of the Β£ reward).
Frankly it`s an insult and it would have been better if they did not bother, what on earth do they think we have for brains when they offer a few pence when some of us are paying hundreds of pounds a month?
Yes, Joe, I signed up. I was given a different time for shift and an interesting target.

This has to be a mistake as the notification for test events is not there for any events for 16/03/23 (and won't be until 1530 today) with participants notified at 1630 π
No point 'shifting' for me as I am not a smart meter person. Rather, I just save energy anyway. If you 'shift' a kWh from somewhen to somewhen else, your energy costs will be exactly the same, unless you move it from peak rate to off peak time if you are dual rate.
Sure, you may earn 20 or 30p a couple of times a month. But probably spending similar on energy overall if you didn't 'shift'.
But I've just reduced my average consumption from around 10kWh a day to nearer 7kWh a day. Saving me over a pound a day, or about Β£30 odd a month.
And if we all did this, then we wouldn't need demand shift in the first place as the demand on the grid would be well below the point where additional (expensive) generation needed to be brought on line to cover peak demand.
Just my view, is all.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
