Another 👍 for an air cooker. I did a brace of rump steaks tonight...one for 15 minutes at 190°C for medium and the other 3 minutes less for medium rare. That is to say, a total cooking time of 15 minutes at 1.7kW, or 425Wh. Compared to my usual frying of mine on the hob for 10 minutes at 1kW (166Wh) and her indoors preheating the oven for 10 minutes and then cooking hers on a cast iron griddle for 20 minutes 2.2kW for 30 minutes is 1.1kWh.
So half the time, and a third of the energy. Chips we still did in the deep fat fryer as per usual.
Not too shabby. I'm pretty convinced. If it wasn't a rented property, I'd remove the old built-in oven and fit another cupboard. 😀

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
I made tattie wedges in my air fryer tonight took 1/2 the time they take in the oven but it was super crispy! Apparently you can do toad in the hole in the air fryer too has anyone tried that?

Not yet but it's on the list of things to try. I also usually put my egg-shells on a tray in the oven to cook off all the oils so I can grind them up for grit for the chickens. Five minutes in the air cooker...job done👍
The more I use it, the more I'm liking it and energy costs for cooking have definitely gone down.
Sounds good, apart from the broccoli. Not a fan of that or cauliflower🤢. Garlic, soy and sesame does make a gorgeous marinade for salmon though 👍
I'm not too keen on broccoli🥦either, but I like my home made cauliflower cheese. I made lentil and carrot soup in the Slow-cooker yesterday. It's very easy to make, and up here in the North East we always have dumplings with soup and broth. I've enough left for today. Just the ticket for this cold weather.😋🍲
Don't knock it until you try it, so they say. We have huge reserves of soup we made last autumn as we had a pretty decent harvest from the garden. I've just taken some ham, pea and tatty out of the freezer for tea tonight, which is a favourite of mine. Microwave rather than air cooker though, I suspect.
Back when I lived in the Old Country, my old garden shed got transformed into a proper 'man cave' with off grid solar PV, solar water heating and a full on sink with hot and cold running water. In the summer, I had a slow cooker in there as a dump load for my excess solar power when the batteries were fully charged. Bacon and lentil soup was a favourite snack for the two teenogres when they got in from school. They always called it "Mike's solar soup". 👍
