We had a new smart meter installed and were given a new SmartView4 in-home display to use. The engineer said it could take 30 minutes to pair with the meter and then would be working. Here we are nearly 3 days later and the in-home display is still saying its “Pairing..” scanning for networks. I have tried restarting it, I have tried moving it right next to the smart meter. It is not connecting. I have tried to phone support 0808 5015200 (just never gets through). I have tried e-mail to hi@eonnext.com but no one replies.
Look at the meter itself, not the IHD. What colour is the HAN light and is it steady or flashing?
Put your IHD near the meter. Do the lights change after ten minutes?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie Thank you for the reply. I had managed to get through to the telephone support folks who gave me a set of steps to follow, which is basically turn the IHD off , stand it in front of the meter and restart then leave to connect. That was about 40 mins ago and it still has not connected. I have had a look at the HAN light now as you suggested. It is slowly flashing green along with the SW, WAN and GAS indicators. There is a MESH light too which does not seem to be flashing. The IHD has been in front of this for 40 mins plus now, I did not see what these indicators were doing prior to placing the IHD in front so can't comment on if they changed or not.
@retrotecchie Thanks for the help and advice, much appreciated. The Kaifa MA120 box (2022) with Toshiba top does not have a PWR light. But yes the other lights are blinking about once every 5 secs, so as you say they seem fine. I will wait for the eon support folks to call back and see if we can get any further. Perhaps the IHD is the problem. Thanks in any case
