Has anyone had Eon mix their day and night rates up and if so what happened?
After two years they’ve finally managed to talk to my smart meter and today they managed to take a ‘smart’ reading that has mixed the day and night rates up. Apparently it hasn’t occurred to them that the day rate went down several thousand units between yesterday and today..🤷♂️
My previously in credit account is now nearly £400 in debit. I fully expect them to stick that to me and I’ll have to suck it up, any idea what I can do about it other than try and point out the obvious but in the absence of being able to communicate with them I’m a bit stuck…
Yeah that looks similar, I tried to put my readings in yesterday and I couldn't do it so thought something was up. They haven’t been able to read my smart meter for two years so Ive given readings on the dot every month. When they do manage to reset my meter it looks like they’ve swapped the day and night tariffs over.
there’s no way to get hold of anybody, I’ve tried email and whatsapp, phoning etc there’s only so many hours a day I can try and get hold of them. Looks like I’ll just have to pay up, if they weren’t making enough money already…it’s a bloody good scam though…😂
Replies to emails and WhatsApps seem to be taking about two weeks right now. I hear that if you phone at 9am when they open there’s a good chance of getting through in minutes.
@JoeSoap yep I heard they were on top of the situation…😂 tried to ring the last two mornings dead on 9 to actually give them my readings but nothing happens yesterday I left the phone on speaker for several hours but no one was home…🤷♂️
I can’t afford what they want to charge me anyway so I’ll not pay them, fairly certain that will get their attention.

@JoeSoap Its pathetic really isn't it, not your stock answer, 😂, but the level of apathy or disinterest they have in their customers. This morning my account is showing the correct meter readings so I should be back in credit, but they're still showing me as owing them nearly £400, they're not bloody getting it! 😂
Take photos of your meter readings @solomondogs and email them with the necessary explanation. Email is the slowest method of contact at the moment but at least your evidence is in their position whilst you try other methods of contact.
In fairness, I don’t think the customer service delays at present are down to apathy and disinterest… not all of them anyway. All the changes that came in on 1st October, and now with the latest chancellor, have caused an avalanche of enquiries by all means of contact.
It’s a bad time to have an urgent need to contact them, that’s for sure.
Good idea from @Andy65 about taking photos of the meter though 👍
