Has anyone had their government support payment credited to the wrong account ?

I have a standard pre payment meter that is topped up via a key and a 2nd account that is to a meter unknown to us that we don't touch but uses 1p per month lol).. Eon aren't sure what this meter is to and hasn't bothered looking into it.

Anyway, has anyone else had this and been able to move the credit to where it needs to be?

    I don't have a smart meter.

@Danielmcgurk92 Anasa here 👋 from what I can see you have a complex meter issue and as you said topping up as normal is no issues but in instances like this we'll need to manually apply the credit to the correct account. If you give us a call or contact one of our Digi energy Specialist we'll be able to get this done for you.

We are a bit busier than usual so it could take a few days for us to get back to you via Social Media but we'll get back to you as soon as we can or give us a call, again there might be a bit of a wait due to how busy we are but we'll get to you 😊

As you have a standard pre-payment meter and not a smart one you will receive the payment as vouchers which the government guidelines say should be delivered to you within 11 working days of the start of the month.

I don’t know if they are account specific but I understand they can be used to top up gas or electric meters even though they are only issued to those who have electric pre-payment meters.

Perhaps @PeterT_EONNext can advise on whether the vouchers are issued to a specific account.

The vouchers are account specific. You will also need to take ID with you when you go to redeem them. Ideally, a driving license works best, but you can also use a passport, bank statement, council tax bill or utility bill.

You cannot redeem them for a different address than what's on the voucher and I'm afraid they can't be exchanged for cash either. And if only one of your meters is PAYG, you cannot exchange the voucher to credit the other account.

@theunknowntech @JoeSoap - I did not receive any voucher to redeem, the credit was applied to a meter/account that is nothing to do with me automatically. Eon weren't sure what this meter was for ages ago when setting my account up but they just left it as I would top up my prepayment as and when required anyway so surely as they've applied the credit to the wrong account, it would be down to them to rectify it ?

Ah, you didn’t say it had actually happened so I presumed (wrongly) that you were wondering where your EBSS payment had got to and was worried it might go to the wrong account.

I’ve already tagged @PeterT_EONNext but in the meantime you may be better to contact customer service. They are overwhelmed at present so a lot of patience is required.

Good luck with getting it sorted.
