Energy Bills Support Scheme
-
What are the actual chances of E.On fulfilling their obligation to supply their customers with this month’s Energy Bills Support Scheme payment of £66, within five working days? I’m referring to Smart Pay as you Go customers, because I’m aware that customers who pay by direct debit have already received their payments! Well the five working days will be over at midnight, so approximately 6 hours to go and I’m afraid I’m not too confident, this is E.On after all!!!

Hi @Gresham66
Smart Pay As You Go payments are due to hit our PAYG customers meters over the next few hours, so please keep a look out for this.

And what about those on traditional pre-payment meters? It says our vouchers would arrive in the first week of each month but someone on the forum sent me a link which shows official statement clause 5.4 which states we get ours within the first ELEVEN working days of each month.
To be honest I have lost faith in anything Eon says, or doesn't say. -
@Tiberius
It was Para 5.48 which says something to the effect of ‘the energy supplier should seek to ensure the voucher provider gets the vouchers to traditional prepayment meter customers within eleven working days of the start of the month’.
Para 5.47 says the suppliers should send the funds to those providers within three working days.
Eon Next may well have fulfilled their part of the guidance. We will probably never know whether they did or not as regards Para 5.47 but as long as you get your vouchers within the eleven working days (by the 17th October) then you should have no grounds for complaint.
Here is a link to the document in question…

I do see in the following link however…

…that @PeterT_EONNext has said that,
‘‘This means, within the first week of each month, you'll receive a voucher which you'll need to use for your electricity….’’ This may be Eon Next’s choice to do this but if not then the post should be amendedLast edited by JoeSoap; 08-10-22 at 05:15. Reason: Added last bit.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
I am on a Smart meter with Eon for electricity but on an old style prepayment meter with British Gas for gas. So far I have one direct credit of £66 on my Eon smart meter. It looks like all of the £400 is going to be credited to my electricity and nothing at all to my gas?
-
@ronrobco
That is correct. The EBSS payments will only be applied to electricity accounts. This method of payment was chosen as the vast majority of households have electricity supplies whereas a lesser number have gas. -
Thanks for getting back to @Tiberius about that @JoeSoap whilst I wasn't here over the weekend.
That's right - the steer we have currently is within the first week of each month when prepayment vouchers should land with our customers (postal strikes not taken into account for this of course, which could see a few delays)
If this time-frame were to change though, the original post will be updated of course. -
@PeterT_EONNext
Then please explain why I, a dual fuel customer with traditional prepayment meters, have received ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! -
@ronrobco
In my opinion the customer should still have a choice whether to split the payment or not. That being said, I have traditional prepayment meters for both gas and electricity and have received absolutely nothing. -
I have received zilch as well, and it is now 11 days into the month!! As I have an old style pre-payment meter which I use a key to top up with, and have never received billing, how do I know you have my correct details? I’ve tried for days to get in touch to confirm but am getting nowhere and extremely concerned that the vouchers won’t get to me! I am beginning to get quite distraught as my various messages on all sorts of platforms are being ignored, so how am I even going to get the vouchers that E-on have been given the money for already?!! Am at my wits and not had a single penny of help
