The situation regarding getting the correct unit rates has been a complete disaster on the part of E.on Next. They had days and days to get their figures correct and I cannot believe that such a large organisation could allow such a mess to happen. The directors should be ashamed

You're right @Johnh1995. I don't know what's been going on there in recent months but they're refusing to move customers from pre-paid to a credit meter, they don't want to install E7 meters etc, it's all very odd.

I can accept mistakes happening, but when a business knows it's going wrong and then can't be bothered to tell their customers that there'll be a delay in updating accounts but that customers will be charged correctly, then that's unforgivable.

Is it clear yet whether the balance of the £66/67 (if your DD is below that amount) will be credited to your bank account or your energy account?

    I can only see this…

What if my direct debit is less than £66 per month?

We are still waiting for further clarification on this however we believe that customers with a direct debit less than the payment amount your direct debit would be reduced and the remainder would be credited to your account for example if you paid £50 per month your direct debit would be reduced to £0 for those 6 month and the remaining £16 would be credited to your account.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

This company is the largest electricity supplier in the UK. They appear to be very uncomfortable with that statistic, and so are doing all they can to shed customers as fast as they can. I think that months down the line there will be fines for their poor performance that will be pitifully low and do nothing to compensate customers at all.
I was transferred here under the supplier of last resort process, so never chose them, and I think I’ll leave them next year when my fix expires, or earlier if they try to foist a smart meter onto me.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

I’m not in the happy position of having a DD that low, but they have to give you the full benefit of the government largess one way or another. If they held onto any balance the criticism would be huge, so perhaps that is exactly what they will do - because they seem to do things that make no business sense.

logically you are correct of course, but so many problems at E.On manyana is making me think that the costs of doing thing right is greater than the fines and effects of customer loses.

That's my understanding @JoeSoap. My DD isn't being taken as normal but I've yet to see the credit added to my bank account. This would normally happen tomorrow but with credits I don't usually see them as pending in the same way I do with debits. So in theory the credit should be in my bank tomorrow but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it didn't appear for a while, but who knows!
However, they've known about the £400 for a decent amount of time so there shouldn't be any reason why it isn't applied promptly and without any problems.

I don't think EONext intend to give your bank account any credit. What they will do is keep the money and add it as a credit to your electric account with them. THEY keep the money.

    @GSimpson

That is the way it has been agreed with the Government so I don't think that they can deviate from that.

No, it's not the way it has been agreed with the Government. There is no agreement about how it will be done. EDF have the right idea. Their website says

"How you'll receive your energy discount
"An automatic refund each month to the bank account your Direct Debit payments are taken from."

Why do EONext manage to get it so wrong ...... again?

OVO's website also seems to mention it pretty clearly too. It's quite detailed, so I'll just link to it. https://www.ovoenergy.com/energy-bills-support-scheme

I also noticed their forum volunteers are absolutely killing it with the advice they've all been giving.
