Hi everyone @HelenaP_EONNext made me aware of 'Don't step on a bee day on July 10th'

I'd like to add my little bit of awareness, fun facts and a little bit of knowledge mixed in for good measure.

This is a very important day for these little fellows to have some recognition 🐝 ⭐

Bees have been around for around 120 million years! They do a fantastic job of being part of the biodiversity, which we all depend on for survival. What a heavy weight to carry on those pretty little shoulders 🐝 yet they never fail to work hard everyday.

They are very crucial little bundles of life , building their colony, in-between being great pollinators, which is essential for the reproduction of many plants 🌵 flowers 🌹 fruits 🍎 vegetables🧅 nuts🥜 and believe it or not coffee ☕ and cocoa, helping them flourish has many benefits to us.

The environment, and the life of the bee itself... they love to flutter around our gardens 🏡 Did you know they even recognise human faces 😊

Here are a few ways we can help keep this great harmony... plant pollinating flowers, a few like the echinacea, which is easy to grow and has rich nectar , lavender which also smells Divine , butterfly bushes they adore with the beautiful purple flower, they actually love purple lilac blue hues , so that would be a great one and for the smaller garden they do dwarf variety's too🤗 foxgloves are another favourite, honey suckle, and even herbs if you like the sound of that , just remember if you have pets or small children always research friendly plants let's keep everyone safe too👍 all whilst giving our gardens some lovely colours and smells and helping them flourish 💐 they also need water a great way is a shallow dish. I use a ceramic plant pot dish with a few stones I've collected to let them land on. Bees need a platform to drink from, the little fellows rotates their wings around 200 times a hour in a figure of 8 imagine that!

So for all they do I think the 'Don't step on a Bee Day' is a fantastic awareness day, so why not make a difference and make a little spot either wildflower small patch or larger, whatever anyone can do like the old saying every little helps , they will be really grateful and let's make a difference in the life of the magical bee 🐝

Who would have thought Bees play such an important part in our daily life style! And I will definitely do my part! As I have been meaning to get a couple of lavender plants for the garden as they last for quite a few years like my previous ones did.

I will get the children involved in making a little saucer for the Bees to drink from and will definitely share some pictures once all set up. 💦🐝

I was looking after a bee for a few days at some point as it couldn't fly, so to think they can recognise our faces is such a cute thought 😍 I currently have a large lavender bush they enjoy, I will need to go out and create some of these little watering stations ❤

It would be great to see everyone's pollination stations 🌺!

@Indyk_EONNext thats a Great idea with the children my granddaughter has one , I bought one from the works for her i, t's super cute I'll get a picture Wen I go next , they do actually go to it for water too , because she lets a Patch of white clover that grows in her grass and daisy's flourish a few times they absolutely love it

What a lovely post @Tracy - I agree, Bee's play a massive part in our daily lives, so much so that many people are not aware of. A little dish of sugar water in the garden is useful for the little fellows in the hot weather, especially when they land and are too exhausted to fly off again 🐝 Does anyone have any recommendations of Bee houses you can get for the garden? Not so much a hive - but somewhere they can shelter 😁

@HelenaP_EONNext that's great I have something to show everyone , a few years back one fell in my garden it obviously came to the end of its life , I just couldn't dispose of it , I still have it we cleaned it up and suspended it in hand sanitizer , still looks real to this day , just a little reminder to me how precious they are , he's immortal now and a beautiful sight to show , I also have a dish which they frequent to drink , we have a emergency vial too you can buy if you come across one you think needs a little boost we have done that many a time🤗

@Connor_EONNext the best you can do is provide food and water for them , leave them to do there thing , there very clever little things at finding shelter , and although beautiful if you have children or pets it's best to let them frequent your garden rather than stay , unless you have a huge space to share ,

@Connor_EONNext the wasps seem to like to take over too , so just keep the mindfulness up of helping them with there nourishing needs , nature will pay you back ten fold 🤗

@Tracy I am actually heading into town this weekend so will definitely pop into the works and have a look.

@Indyk_EONNext that's great I love watching the little ones join in , we take my granddaughter to the forest with tubs of food ,she loves putting them about one funny story i took some teacakes for the squirrels , I turned around it was gone she had eaten it ha ha 😂 just been out that guys already feasting on my hanging baskets 👍🐝
