    So you've been switched from Eon to Eon next.? When you say your meters are blank are you referring to your in house display or the actual meters themselves?

    If the meters are blank then that is a matter for Eon next to resolve urgently.

    Hi Yes both my Meters are blank Electricity one is in the House Gas one is Outside my front door. Both are Blank !Never an issue with Eon in the past and was able to give my house readings fine if asked for... but all of a sudden this and very convenient with the new prices coming into effect. I can't help thinking if they are doing this with a lot of people which I have seen having similar issues the money they will be making is astronomical! I have my Smart Meter in the house and they seem to be getting my Electricity reading of that but nothing for the Gas! My Account is quite a bit in Credit at the moment.
    Only problem is trying to get in touch with Eon Next which is proving to be impossible every day now.

    Hi @Victimised I'm really sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Direct Debit amount ๐Ÿ˜”

    @Justme22

    Perhaps @theunknowntech and or @PeterT_EONNext can investigate this . The advice on how to contact given in the post above is sound. But make sure to have your account details to hand and include these in any twitter/Instagram/Facebook/email you send.

    @Victimised

    My own bills have nearly trebled comparing last year to this year. - came off great long term fixes, transferred to Eon Next, had one price cap increase and now another due within the week. So prices have gone up massively. But while the latest increase is said to be 54% for the average customer - well I'm not average. My electricity consumption is lower than average and my gas use quite a lot higher. And Gas has gone up more than electricity. So my increase this time is decidely not average.

    Your DD calculation is based on an estimate of consumption and the prevailing prices. Credit should reduce the DD and arrears increase it. You should definitely ask Eon next to justify their DD. If you pay too much its like giving them an interest free loan.

    Come on, surely you can set your own DD prices as long as you know you aren`t going too far into debit? I`m nearly 200 quid in credit so I`m dropping mine down to clear some of it over the summer.

    Hi @Justme22 ,

    Please post photos of your meters here. I'd like to try and help you with diagnosing the issue, but I need to see what you've got first as that affects my advice.

    @UKDave51 Hi Dave Anasa here ๐Ÿ‘‹ hope your well, we calculate your Direct Debit based on your previous usage and what you're expected to use up until your annual review which is normal around April - May time, at this point we'll refund any credit on your account so you have a 0 balance and re set you Direct Debit again for the next 12 months.

    Also during the year you can review and change your Direct Debit if you feel your payments are too high or too low. The more meter reads we have the better we can set your Direct Debit and if there are any changes for example extra visitors or you go away for a few weeks/months just let us know and we'll review.

    Have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Interesting, i thought my credit stayed on my account indefinitely, i will need to reassess how much I`m paying once the refund has been processed, thanks for that.

    I've calculated the maximum unit prices for electricity and gas from the data released by OFGEM. These are posted in good faith and my methodoligy seems to be correct - I've checked my own prices and on some comparison sites. If you think i've got anything wrong let me know.
