Hi, I look after my Mothers account, but cannot believe the monthly charge,
She lives in a 1 bedroom flat, 5 radiators that are set at 20 degrees, minimal use of cooker, no washing or drying machines in use, fridge, tv.
IS £297 per month excessive?
I have started to read meter monthly
Please help me
Thanks
Hi @Confusedofbromsgrove, that sounds a tad high to me, but please allow me to introduce myself.
I'm theunknowntech, one of the forum volunteers around here. I don't have the ability to access your account myself but I'm a dab hand at puzzle solving, so there's a good chance I can figure this out.
What kind of meter and tariff is your mother on please, and is she on dual-fuel? If you can show me photos of the meters that would also help a lot. Once I've seen those, I can try to advise further.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Also look at previous bills to see if consumption has increased recently.
Sometimes with direct debits people get into arrears because they are not paying enough for their consumption. Then the supplier puts the DD up, not only to a better approximation of consumption, but also has to add an additional amount to cover the debt that has built up. This can result in some quite shocking figures.
Post back when you have identified some more information.
