Is this based on an actual reading or on an estimated reading? If estimated I'd suggest you put in your own actual customer read immediately. If this read is accurate what about the start read from 31st December, was this an accurate or an estimate?
I already did all that. The issue isn't like that, it's just their estimation sucks. Final bill came through at 524. Much better than 900+ but still crazy high. I remember paying 150 for both in a house 3 times this size. Man those were the good old days, 2 years ago lol.
Economically it's too high, but the math proves out with what we're paying per unit of gas/electricity. On average we're using at least 500 units of electricity and and 200+ of gas each month.
We both work from home and have a lot of electronics and work long hours.
We used almost no gas during the summer but during winter our house gets really cold because it's 100+ years old and has almost no insulation yet. :)
I feel ya' @runamonk, we have 3 adults working from home in this house so our electricity bill is a proper nightmare at the moment! 🤯. Our Community is a great source to get money and energy saving advice! Have a look at this thread 👉 Energy Saving and hopefully you can make small changes to minimise that bill😊. Also have a read of this thread 👉 Period property & energy saving where we take a deep dive into how to save energy on older properties 🙌.
