I’ve had a new smart meter installed 3 weeks ago, it still isn’t sending any data to my account but it is talking to the ihd. Although the ihd does show my standing charge incorrectly but the unit price is correct, all the comms lights on the meter are flashing every 5 seconds as they should and I’ve been told by eon that my meter is on the national database, how much longer should it take? I’ve spoken to others who’s meters worked out the box?
Sounds like your meters might still be commissioning and this can take up to six weeks in some cases (long story!). I do have a tool handy that can help you check the status though. Could you run the meter through https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk/ and tell me the results please?

thanks for the reply. Yep I’ve run the diagnostic and it’s telling me that the meter is running in smart mode. Does that mean it’s just a waiting game? Seems strange it should take so long.

Ok, well that's a good sign then. It's quite possible that you just haven't yet hit the next scheduled reading date, but I'll ask @PeterT_EONNext to check a few things for you. If he's able to connect, he'll also be able to fix the tariff rates for you.
I've had a look at your account, and from what I can see @theunknowntech seems to be correct in that the next scheduled read isn't here yet (as we'll take your readings each month from your meter to use for your bill)
This is due to take place on 5th June, and your meter is commissioned and linked up with the Data Communications Company. Please do let me know though if for any reason on or after 5th June no reading is on your account/you've not received a statement containing your Smart Meter reading.

thanks for that, so am I right in the way I understand it then that reading will only be taken on a monthly basis, even though I have the settings set at half hourly reads? Also will the daily standing charge be updated on that first read as it currently says it’s 0.25 per day when in reality it is 0.48 per day?
the reason I’m keen to get it reading in real time is I have solar panels and am keen to get an export tariff set up so I can get paid for my export but I believe it needs half hourly meter read capabilities for me to have this, hence the smart meter, if I could use all my generation I wouldn’t be too fussed but it’s damn near impossible, lol.
Sorry I was supposed to mention - Yes, I've sent an update to change the tariff on your meter. There are a few updates going through for your meter currently due to the post-setup of your Smart Meter so this may not update until after 5th June once we've been sent your first Smart Meter reading.
In relation to your half-hourly reads - I can see this is how your Smart Meter has been set up/is the consent we have in place from you. Due to how we bill you, we'll only call upon a reading each month as when this happens, a bill is produced, so the half-hourly data is something that happens in the background (as it wouldn't be feasible for us to display all of your half-hourly readings on your account/bills as there would be loads!)
The data is available upon request though should you ever need it, and you should be able to set up an export tariff without issue.
