Hi all, i moved into a new property on 17th Aug and joined eon the next day, i feel like i was a bit hasty in choosing a fixed term (stress of moving and everything), is it possible to cancel/get off the fixed term? do eon have a 28 cancellation window or something similar?

The cooling-off period is 14 days I believe so you’ve gone past that.
I don’t know your tariff but the Next Online is currently v20 and I think was v19 when you signed up. V19 is cheaper than v20. Check to see what you’ve got.
We still don’t know what exactly is going to happen so you may want to wait until the announcement expected on Thursday before you give up your fix.
There are no exit fees so that may help you decide. If you give up your fix now and then in a couple of days time regret your decision then you may find fixing again is more expensive.
Hard to advise what to do as we are all in a quandary but I hope this helps you make the right choice.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -

You’re welcome. I interpret No Exit Fees to be just that, so however you exit there should be no fees.
I suppose you could check your agreement Ts and Cs to be sure. -

I’ll go further than my last post and say definitely check Ts and Cs with reference to exit fees.
I just did a quick search and read something like, ‘We may charge an exit fee if you leave… check your contract…etc.’
Couldn’t find a date so don’t know if it was current. Just reading another thread and there’s lots of confusion around Ts and Cs.
But for sure, no exit fees if you switch to another Eon Next tariff. -
Level 106-09-22Hi… I’m in a similar position. Signed up to next online v19 on 22nd august, which will be effective from 17th September. I did this as the monthly DD was c.£50 more expensive than when I checked the week before, and panicked a bit! One of the reasons for signing up was “no exit fees”, though admittedly I didn’t read the small print.
With the recent press speculation, appears we may have been a bit hasty, but everything I’ve read suggests “no exit fees” is certainly applicable for an internal change to another Eon next tariff (as JoeSoap says). Fingers crossed for Thursday… good luck! -

I fixed to v17 and have been paying higher rates than the Next Flex alternative for the last five weeks. It may, and most likely will, turn out to have been the wrong decision in hindsight but it was one made after considering the information available at the time and I won’t be beating myself up about it.
Personally, I won’t be rushing to the phone in the immediate aftermath of the announcement just to potentially be on-hold for an age or even be cut off as some have reported recently in these frantic times.
The devil may be in the detail, so for me another day or two on my fixed tariff won’t make a lot of difference in the grand scheme of things and will allow time for the announcement from Eon Next that will surely (hopefully) come.
There may yet be consideration for those on fixes and in any case I’m hoping that any switch to the best tariff will be made easy through my online account.
