    Evening,

Just out of curiosity and if answered previously elsewhere, then apologies.

Is there any reason why E.On can’t take a monthly export reading directly from my smart meter and automatically credit my electric/gas account with the funds for that month?

Instead of the one time annual payment (or upto 4 times a year if requested).

    Cheers
    Chris

    Good Morning @Wills170

    How are you?

When processing a payment on seg accounts we do require a photo being sent to us due to the process the seg team follows to issue the credit. As your already aware we do pay annually or up to 3 times a year and then the 4th payment being the annual payment.

We do either pay via cheque or bank transfer, however you can also request the credit balance to be transferred over to your energy account if this is what you prefer just let us know when you are requesting the export payment. 😊

If there is anything else you need please let me know.

    Have a lovely day 💜

    Ah ok,

I promise I’m not trying to be awkward, just interested…

if you can take readings for gas/electric usage and bill monthly via the smart meter readings that are remotely sent to you…what prevents the smart meter or yourselves being able to view the monthly export reading?

And then add that credit directly to my account, potentially reducing my DD payments?

@Wills170 The best thing to do is call or email the SEG Team directly.

The team, will need to check your meter and some other details before confirming, it's not something we can advise on the Community or check this for you I'm afraid

SEG can be emailed at hi@eonnext.com - SEG in the subject or you can call in on 0808 501 5218 Monday to Thursday 9 - 5pm and 9 - 4:30pm on Fridays.

Do let me know how you get on with this though, like post an update when you have spoken to the team 😀

    Thanks
