After 4 unsuccessful attempts over the course of several years I can now finally say that I am delighted to update that as of last Friday we have fully commissioned and working electricity and gas meters updating to the DCC. I just thought I would try again as I was looking into different tariffs and seen that a functioning smart meter gave access to much more financially advantageous deals. Both WAN and HAN (including the in home display are working reliably) and I am seeing data from the Bright app for both electricity and gas.
There is hope. The solution was by use of an FL 100 Flying Lead. This allowed the comms unit of the meter to be relocated higher up on the wall away from the radiator which was directly opposite (on the other side of the wall) where the comms unit was before. I am not sure also if the Flying Lead is also acting as some kind of signal booster/antenna. My thanks go to the clever engineer. Here is a link to the device that solved all our problems:

Can someone from EON Next please kindly confirm that you are seeing my SMETS 2 meters by sending a few commands to them if they need to be woken up? I believe @theunknowntech on this forum might be able to help? Can someone please tell me how I can tell from the EonNext app and the standard website via desktop/laptop that the meters are reporting to EonNext every 30 mins. I have set it up for half hourly reads in my account via the desktop app. The app and website still nags to say my smart meter needs repaired. I know I should not have to wait 6 weeks for anything to show as I’m not swapping supplier and there’s data coming to a 3rd party app ie Bright for both utilities.
They are clearly sending data as mentioned previously as both WAN/HAN lights flash every 5 seconds, the IHD works and I’m receiving data to my Bright app. I am looking forward to now switching to an EV tariff at long last :-)
Thanks very much in advance
