I've just had my meter changed to a smart meter. Unfortunately, I live in a flat and my meter is 2 floors down, so I can't have a display thingy as the wifi doesn't reach. The engineer said that I could use my Amazon echo show 8 to show my usage but I am lost as to how I'm supposed to set that up. Anybody here done that before and able to offer a bit of hand holding for me??
@Kalvin356
I have just done a little researching and looking at the skills mentioned above I'm not sure I'd bother. Saying that you are more than welcome to have a try. Neither have particularly good ratings and definitely don't show live usage. Purely historical (ie: previous days).
If you have a smart phone I would suggest do what most of us do and use the Hildebrand Bright app with the Eon Next app. The Bright app is the nearest to live-ish (not real time) readings.

Reason: Extra information
Evening @Kalvin356 Now I've got to be honest I've not tried this but yes it's possible. If you look at Alexa skills I'm aware you will find one by Loop and another by Hugo. Both have the ability of showing usage. The usage may not be live.I would suggest a little researching might be a good idea.
I agree. The apps only give consumption information ( usage) though and not readings at any point in time. I somehow doubt that other devices could do that either, as you have to access the comms hub to get that information and security precludes that.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
