We are re-launching a campaign called the Warm Home Discount Extra!
The scheme is for customers who have a prepayment meter (SPAYG & Traditional) or live off the mains gas grid and aren't eligible for the Core group.
We will be issuing SMS messages to eligible customers to sign up via an online link -
Here's an example of what this SMS will look like - Hi, E.ON Next here. You could get a £150 Warm Home Discount with our scheme for those not in the new Core group in England and Wales. Please use your account number on the form to make sure we can then process your payment.
Please note: We will never ask for you to reply to confirm your account details or give us your bank details via SMS.
Only eligible customers will receive the SMS📱
‘Core group’ customers qualify automatically and don’t need to apply. The Department for Work & Pensions will always send the customers a letter to confirm automatic payment.
What's the thinking behind the criteria for this scheme? Have these customers missed out in some way? And are there other groups missing out too?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Hey @meldrewreborn, as the criteria for the warm home discount scheme changed, some people that were previously in the core group were no longer eligible. We have put the Warm Home Discount Extra in place to help as many of our most vulnerable customers as possible.
