I am 88 years old and have paid my gas and electricity bill in cash at the post office all my life. Eon now say they are sending me paperless so I won't get the bar code I need to pay on the bottom of the bill that comes through the post. What can I do? I have never missed a payment in all my life and I'm worried.

I've just been looking on the Help pages on Eon Nexts main website, and it says on there you can still pay your bill at the Post Office, by either printing your online bill if it is showing a barcode, and taking that to the Post Office, or you can take a previous paper bill to the Post Office because your barcode is always the same on every bill. I hope that helps, and stops you from worrying🤞

@MrsW - are you using a phone (or PC) for this message?
If you're a phone user, you can open the online bill on the phone then the post office should be able to read the bar-code from the screen.
I don't think it will need to be a paper bill, but maybe check with the P.O if that will work for them.
I would strongly recommend that you pay by variable Direct Debit instead of by cash at the post office. There are two types of Direct Debit, essentially with variable direct debit your monthly bill is automatically paid, and with fixed direct debit your energy costs for a year ahead are calculated and you pay one twelfth of the annual total each month - exactly the same each month. Because you are used to paying a variable amount each month , a variable direct debit would probably suit you best.
Paying this way you will get cheaper prices for your energy and put yourself at less risk of forgetting or worse. Unfortunately older people are at greater risk of being mugged in the street (it happened to my mother). You will still get your bill first before the payment is taken.
