@Indyk_EONNext One other thing to consider is to make sure whatever you go for doesn't have annual price increases, often linked to inflation (RPI or CPI) plus a percentage.
My contract is just one month - it’s almost pay as you go! I’d mobile is run by Carphone Warehouse and piggybacks onto the 3 network and hopefully Vodafone’s now that they’ve merged. I fully admit that my experience in terms of coverage was marginally better with O2, but the savings provide a valuable counter point.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn It's the same with Lebara, one month contract giving you the ability to jump at anytime. I've seriously found coverage excellent certainly in the Northern sector.
I find uswitch has a good range of offers with relevant points well illustrated.
I found the switching process quite straightforward and easy to follow. The new sim turned up quickly and I used it in a spare phone so that I was never out of mobile service on switchover day. Then moved it again to main phone once the switch happened.
Thank you, I will be doing some searching this evening and will keep you posted with who I choose. I did come across a sim only deal for £4.50 with Asda mobile which i didn't actually know existed.
I have never actually given much thought into looking for cheaper deals until 02 have been calling me and then noticed a price increase on my recent statement. 😖

And O2 have adopted a policy of increasing the price of contracts by £1.80 each April. If you contract is for £50 then that's probably OK but not if your contract was £8, as mine was. It seems tying into long contracts is not the way to go now.
Love this @Indyk_EONNext I went to renew my contract a few months ago and was surprised that you have to pay a monthly fee for the phone and for the contract! There is so much to think about these days!

Its been a long standing trick of mobile companies to sell customers a contract that covers both the phone purchase and the call/data usage. Why a trick? Because they continue to charge the same amount, even after the phone cost has been paid off. The better option is to buy a phone (unlocked) and then sort a sim only deal separately. Or get your current phone unlocked and switch to sim only. Save the money up to buy a new phone when you really need one.
