For the last 4 years (since the death of my husband) I've been paying EON for my electricity from our joint Bank Account. Should I worry that the EON Account is still in his name?
best to get this corrected. Contact customer services, send in the death certificate, and work from there.
My advice is usually that couples get both names on utility and similar accounts. Then when one passes away it’s just a case of removing one name. No help to you now, but it might help others reading this.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn Thank you! It's so easy to just let things carry on as normal - but I'm well aware that I should be tying up loose ends. I'll get on to Customer Services - hopefully all will be sorted out with minimum hassle. Thank you again for your reply; I was afraid that people would think - 'silly old fool!' and ignore the question. You have proved me wrong!
Please accept my condolences, I'm sorry for your loss.
There is no such thing as a silly question! I can see you've had great advice from @meldrewreborn 🌟 definitely worth contacting customer service to update the account, this will avoid any possible issues in the future 🙂
It would be great if you could let us know how you got on 🙂
