Hey Clachan which IHD model do you have? We don't currently have any that scroll through the screens directly but it is potentially something we could look into or perhaps one of our other members will be able to give you some advice 😊

@WizzyWigg thanks to you and Debf that is the unit I have not very good I'm only interested in the Now part. The electric shows what you are using, the Gas I'll need to monitor as readings not quite making sense not helped by the continuous budget total repeating. Is there a procedure for having the meter checked if need be
The problem is that the gas meter only sends a meter reading every 30 minutes so the 'Now' display on the IHD isn't much use. Also, if you have gas central heating then you're either going to have it on or off, it uses what it uses.
If you want to minimise your gas usage then do the simple things like keeping doors closed (particularly on rooms not used), turn the TRVs right down in unused rooms etc.
I know from experience that my gas central heating costs me around 39 to 40p per hour. You could take a meter reading from your IHD (OK, right arrow to Meter Information, change fuel to Gas), put your heating on for a number of hours and then read the meter again. Convert the m3 of gas used to kWh using the formula on your bill and then work out the cost per hour. The easier way is to download the Bright app and that will give you the cost down to 30 minute intervals (you need to have this ticked on your E.on-next account).
the manual calculation is better, data from the gas meter is an approximation and reliant on tariff information being up to date.
once the heating gets to the desired temperature the rate of consumption will decrease. In the long term, decreasing temperature levels while maximising insulation of the property are the way forward.
Once you have established a relationship between volume and kWh (about 11.6) and price you can just monitor the volume consumed. If that is reduced so will the bill.
