Nope. You can't go wrong with a traditional meter and a pencil and paper ππ€£π€£π€£
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie To right. ππ. I've just upgraded from a tablet of stone and charcoal to slate and chalk. It's much easier to rub out any mistakes. π€ My next change is to get an abacus. I keep running out of fingers and toes. π
....
Thank goodness one doesn't have to rely on this modern technology π΄...
Well, I've just checked and I have 139 apps on my phone (in excess of 400 if you include system apps) and I've only ever had problems with 0.72% of my apps (ie the E.On Next app) π€£

139 apps!!!!!!! π³ Ignoring system apps I've got 5. That's 20% for me not including the bloatware πππ.
I've gone a bit 'preppy' this year. Four rechargeable LED lanterns, two LED head torches, 100 litres of fresh water, 200 litres of 'not so fresh' water, a UPS that will keep the IT and telecoms up for a week, enough firewood to last a month and enough tinned food to last a fortnight if I get snowed in.
Most importantly, ten tins of Illy decaf coffee, five kilos of sugar, and a stove-top whistling kettle as well as two litres of Laphroaig, a bottle of gin and around 20 bottles of beer. In event of a protracted power cut or water supply failure (we lost water due to freezing conditions for 8 days in December 2022!), I should hopefully be sorted π€. Just don't expect any sense out of me when the lights come back on. No change there, really π€£

Wow ... so high tech π€£
A couple of years ago when the energy crisis hit after Mad Vlad invaded Ukraine, I realised I had some bottles of lamp-oil so went out and invested in one of these
And made some DIY oil lamps out of jam-jars with string wicks through the lids
I've got 500 litres of kerosene in the tank. If the brown and steamy really hits the windmill, then at least I can use that in the car at a pinch, mixed 50:1 with cooking oil. I never thought of keeping a drop to hand for the paraffin lamp! π€£
Good call, that man π
