Hello, I Just recently switched my energy supply away from E.ON. This switch took place on Sat 21st September. I paid by variable DD, will e.on be able to generate a bill for the period following my last billing date, 24th August upto the 20th Sept which would have been my last day with e.on as energy supplier.
I have emailed e.on 3 times since Saturday and had no response. 🤔
It can take a few weeks for everything to sync back up. However, if a reading was sent to both suppliers on the same day and it precisely matches on both sides and the industry agrees it's valid (it's complicated, long story!) then you should be good. Your final bill should arrive within six weeks of leaving - once that's paid off, your account will close.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

If you submitted meter readings on the day of the changeover to both the old and new suppliers, everything will come out in the wash nicely.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
hmmm...... 😐 I submitted them to the new supplier as it said they handle everything. OK I just looked at my e.on account and it shows a meter read for 21st Sept - which would have been from the smart meter. So who knows lol
Just out of interest, EDF overestimated my final reading when I left them (gas), and I got no bill from Eon Next for 2 months, then a bill arrived showing a credit putting my account back on schedule. I deliberately did nothing just to see how it was handled. I use very little gas in the summer months, so no huge amounts involved.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
