This is getting really ridiculous now. After spending hours on Tuesday night getting this ordeal sorted and being told that the account is closed and not to worry I am now receiving emails from Eon saying the account is still active and asking me to phone them to clear it up.
Hiya Sean,
@WizzyWigg is absolutely right here - it's not on and I'm so sorry you've had any further communication from us asking for a repayment. I'm afraid @Milly_EONNEXT is on holiday today, and I don't want to give you any incorrect information. I've taken this to our bereavement team to get some answers and I will let you know as soon as I do. 😊

@Sean12 @meldrewreborn- I also have a case where my father who died over a year ago is being chased for £492. He did not leave any money in his estate as he rented and has very little. I could really do with some help with this as E-on have been useless. They were meant to call me back but didn't and instead decided to pass my email address onto the solicitors. I could really do with some help with this!
Kind regards, Barrie
who is dealing with your father’s estate? If his debts exceed his assets at the time of death then Eon Next can’t recover their claimed money. Family are not liable for his debts, but if there are assets in excess of the debts then the energy bill will have to be paid from those assets. If you want to discuss further send me a DM, so that details are not on this public forum.
if there is no money available, then it doesn’t matter whether it’s Eon Next, solicitors, bailiffs or anyone else who are chasing, as they can’t get blood out of a stone, and I repeat nobody else is responsible for his debts. Simply telling those chasing the truth, and warning them about undue harassment is a criminal offence might convince them to leave the family alone.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
