Thanks for the heads up, the drop in electricity of nearly 5p per kWh day rate out weighs the gas increase for me.

Electricity £110 cheaper, Gas up about £40 on 7000 units.

Not a massive saving but locks it in for twelve months and can exit with no fee any

I had planned to go to V4, but luckily checked the gas costs plus standing charges, so will wait until the spring... would have cost me a few quid more per month with c/h running 👍

I've always been a bit wary of 'dual fuel' deals because it always seemed to me that what you may gain on the swings you lose on the roundabouts.

Fortunately, for the last ten years I've been 'electricity only' as we don't have mains gas out in this neck of the woods. Not only have I saved myself a shed load of money by not having to pay gas standing charges over the last decade but, per kWh, my heating costs are a fraction of what they would be if I heated the hovel with gas. I bought a year's supply of heating oil yesterday which cost me about what my parents pay for gas in three months!

When I first moved here, and there were around thirty suppliers to choose from, there were only a handful that actually offered single fuel only. My preferred supplier, OVO, who I'd been with for ten years back in the old country wouldn't entertain me for electricity only. A search on one of the comparison sites only offered four choices which didn't include any of the 'big four' other than British Gas!

I'm pretty sure that EOn.Next (or NPower as they used to be) wouldn't take on new 'electricity only' accounts here in Wales and I'm only with them now because I was SoLR'd over from Igloo.
