@Indyk_EONNext, thanks for the welcome. Given how things are going with the Vestel EV charger, I am glad we did our own research and hired an independent and trusted installer for our solar and battery. Not a single problem with that system, unlike the EV charger....
Not a great start. When people rely on their vehicle for work, I think it is reasonable for customers to expect e.on to carry out proper testing of EV charging software. There are several posts in this community reporting issues with the e.on charging app, so it's not an isolated issue. What concerns me the most, is the seemingly nonchalant attitude about this, given the potential impact this has on people's lives.
The SEG application is complete, but it was painful. Based on what I've seen with relatives' experience with Octopus, their SEG application was quick and smooth, including Octopus' interactions with the DNO.
I appreciate e.on's efforts with making the energy usage app more informative and useful, but there seems to be a large gap on the export account side of things. Octopus are able to show customers solar export data effortlessly, and the overall customer experience is that the import/export system is well integrated. I appreciate that the ability to transfer solar export income as credit on the import account is being worked on, but it baffles me that this hasn't been done already. In this respect, Octopus are light years ahead.
The other aspect of the solar export account that baffles me is the process of getting paid for exports. Single yearly payment, or 4 maximum upon request. Wouldn't it be simpler if customers were given the option to set this up more flexibly, e.g. either manual or automated (or a mixture of both) crediting of solar exports to the import account, or withdrawal as a bank transfer, to suit individual needs and circumstances?
