Have just transferred to e-on from British Gas and am getting a smart meter fitted tomorrow.
How long after that can I transfer to the low cost EV tariff?...hopefully straightaway! -

@as400 Smart Meters can take up to 6 weeks to become fully functional and connect to the DCC (Data Communication Centre).

These values are only used for approximate calculations of your usage costs displayed on your IHD - your billing calculations will use the true Next Drive tariff values, so if the meter hasn't got the correct values don't worry.
Bright will also get the tariff values from your meter, so if they're not correct on the meter its cost calculations won't be correct. However Bright does have the facility to override them and insert your own correct dual ToU tariff rate values and timings, which is what I've had to do since Bright only picks up a single tariff value from my meter.Last edited by geoffers; 10-05-24 at 05:53.
