We received letter this week from LCS to legal owner regarding an EON bill for previous owner.
We stupidly phoned them as I was shocked so they now have our details and my DOB. We were asked to send completion statement as Land registry not yet updated. We did this and are awaiting reply.
I also sent complaint to EON unhappy@eonnext.com and received reply and sent completion statement yet again and was told the account updated and in order. The account started on our move in date. However, the girl Lauren could not confirm LCS would stop.
Has anyone any advice as the debt is not ours and I’m concerned about personal info they hold
Firstly, welcome to the Community. It's lovely to have you here 🤗
I agree, the best thing to do here is speak to one of our Energy Specialists. Have you spoken to them? Let us know, we'd like to hear from you and you're welcome to share any feedback you may have.
When you contact us, the first thing we check is if the letter is addressed to you or 'The Occupier', if it's the Occupier then you can pop it back in the post and return to the sender. If it's your name then it's something we'll need to take a closer look into 🕵️♀️
Hope to hear back from you soon!
Knowledge is power, community is strength, and positive attitude is everything 💜
The debt isn't yours and your account is in order so to me you have nothing to worry about. I presume LCS is a debt collection agency and if so I don't think it was stupid to contact them to put them right. Lots of agencies and companies have our details. Having contacted both them and Eon Next I wouldn't be worried. Just my opinion of course.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I can see that they are a legitimate company that are regulated by the FCA. The debt isn’t yours and Eon Next have acknowledged that so they shouldn’t worry you.
