I've recently switched... and have conflicting information
According to the website, the cheaper rate is from midnight to 7am, come summer or winter
According to a WhatsApp chat, that's midnight to 7am GMT... so later when the clocks go forwards...
I know to ignore my IHD, as I have an economy 7 meter, so it thinks the times are 00:30-07:30 GMT...
...Does anyone know what time I need to set my car to charge? The same all year round (00:00-07:00), or notch it on an hour in summer (01:00-08:00)?

Hi @SimonD - I went through the same confusion when I joined next drive, but happily they adjust for BST/GMT so you can just set your charger to midnight - 7am "current" time (summer or winter)
The time of use is actually recorded on the meter reading as standard time (ie zulu-time/GMT) but they apply the 1 hour offset in the summer for billing purposes 👍
This sounds like a similar issue to economy 7. If you look as this old thread it may be of help, but if they're using different coding then all bets are off!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn thank you... because it's Next Drive, it ignores the E7 timings and reverts to Eon's own timings instead
Which is why I am hoping for clarity :)
thank you though - appreciate the help!
Thank you @geoffers and @WizzyWigg - really appreciate the responses 👍
I'm all prepared for the clock change now then... do nuffink and leave the eon team to work out the BST complexity 😀
Appreciate the thread mentioned too - I now have the Bright app and also downloaded my half hour usage... interesting to see the stats! ... and makes me realise I can't make a solar install payback in a reasonable time, even with an electric car!

OK, so it's only a 6 hour cheap charge on 31st March (but 8 hours on 27th October)?
Or do they do a fixed 7 hours from midnight?
Life's too short to worry about an extra hour or not on clock change day 🤣
Yeah, I know, but still interested in understanding the thought process that went into the design of Drive and why they've seemingly taken the difficult option at every turn.
