Have waited since November for a Smart Meter

    We are a large user >100kWh and have a CT meter installed. We also generate a large amount of energy by PV.

    In order to be able to sell the PV back to Eon we needed to have a smart meter fitted but Eon seem to be at a total loss as to what to do due to the CT meter.

    They have not yet come up with an answer since our first enquiry in November 2023, apart from sending a team out who couldn’t do anything as they knew nothing about CT meters. That was 23 January 2024. The team said they would report back and we would get a call within 24 hours as it needed external contractors arranging. We are still waiting for that call.

    We have spoken to Smart meter appointments a number of time but they just pass us on to someone else.

    We have been speaking to a number of alternative Meter Operators (MOP) and they do not see any problem.

    We have an MPAN and full approval from the DNO to permit us to export.

    ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    Welcome to the Community!

    Sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting a Smart Meter installed due to your current meter set up.

    I'm not 100% sure if this is something that can be upgraded to a Smart Meter, although it may be possible to change your meter for a 3-phase smart electricity meter.
