I have the old clock style meter which I am extreme happy with…but having just been under the ‘ 99498’ reading it’s now gone over the first clock on left previously on ‘9’ to a ‘zero’ this seems to have confused the estimated bill I have just received, as e’on estimated it at over 10,000 !.can anyone else help on reading the meter, been fine for years until reached the figure…think I had the same problem about 18 years ago ( same meter) thanks..
I would just read it exactly as it says and contact customer service to give them the reading and to explain what has happened. I would do this by emaiing hi@eonnext.com to give someone a chance to digest the situation and to start a documented trail of events... just in case.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
put in a correct reading to override the estimated reading. Reverse any outrageous Direct Debit amount via your bank. Be ready to make a complaint if it all goes pear shaped.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
It's probably just confused the system, we have to amend something so our system knows what has physically happened. Human intervention should clear this up.
Let me know if you have spoken to the customer service team about this.
Thanks

Fine but you may now get an enormous bill, because of the over estimate. Which you don't of course have to pay because it will be wrong.
And your ongoing energy costs are 7% greater through not paying by DD. I'm old school as well but DD is no problem. You can pay by variable (rather than fixed) DD which is what your doing now - paying the whole amount after receipt of bill.
