It's time to talk Community πŸ—£

Our mental health is important 24/7 and 365 days a year.
However, to talk about our mental health can be a challenging and sensitive subject to open up about but the community is here to help!

Today marks Time to Talk Day which is run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness to help get the nation talking.

We want to hear from you πŸ’œ
Let us know what you do to help with your mental health.
Personally, I like to make sure I take some time out of my day to go for a walk. Even if it's for 10 minutes I feel it can help a lot with how I feel.

Our forum is offering a warm and safe place where you can talk about what's on your mind.

If you're struggling, we have lots of information below on how you can get in touch and where to get the support you need.

No matter how small it may seem, we're here to listen and support you in the best possible way.

    • Our Priority Services Register is a free support service for people who may be vulnerable. This can include factors such as age, health or disability, and people in vulnerable situations. More information on how we can help here
    • Information on how we can help support with payments and reducing costs is available by our E.ON Next website
    • TellJo is a well-being bespoke questionnaire that we're offering to all our customers and based on their responses. TellJo provides personalised guidance and support to enhance their well-being. How to get in touch can be found on our forum

Hi @EmmaN_EONNext excellent thread. If you can have a gentle walk out it's one of the best things to do. I know there's not a lot of sun 🌞 this time of year. So make the most of any opportunity. Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin. Serotonin is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused. There is the added bonus of increasing the bodies vitamin D. As you say a 10 minute walk is all you need. 🌞

I like a walk too, I also find listening to music and reading very relaxing. I'm very fortunate to have a best friend who I can always rely on to lift my spirits and make me laugh.πŸ˜ƒ

@Tommysgirl Perfect. πŸ‘ @EmmaN_EONNext If you are into rearing house plants or gardening research has shown there are benefits for improved mental health with both.

@Tommysgirl that's lovely to hear and I'm sure your friend will say the same thing πŸ’œ
I do like listening to music too 🎢 Is there a particular genre that you like?

Thanks @WizzyWigg that's a great idea! I currently have a bird feeder too and it's surprising how therapeutic it is seeing the birds from my window 🐦

I have a fairly eclectic taste in music. My favourite band are Queen, but I also like Dire Straits, Tina Turner, a bit of Abba, Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, and quite a few Power Ballads. I quite like Michael Ball and Andrea Bocelli, and a bit of brass band music (my Grandad played the tuba in the local Colliery Band), and also guitar music. πŸŽΆπŸ˜ƒ

That's always a good thing to have. Life is always better for a shared chuckle. I too am lucky to have a friend like that. Never a bad day when I get the old chuckle-muscle tickled, no matter what else is going on. πŸ‘
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I love a bit of Freddie @Tommysgirl my dad was a big fan of Queen, Dire Straits, Van Morrison and Hendrix etc (all the greats) so this was the music I grew up with and I have now passed this on to my 2 too, they have great taste 😎

My dad used to play the guitar 🎸, there is a picture of me as a sproglette wearing his oversized leather jacket, rocking the sun glasses indoors with a red electric guitar 🀣 (not one I wish to share on the forum πŸ™ˆ) He collected guitars, he had a couple electric and acoustic Fenders that were his pride and joy!
