Thanks for that pointer. I don't seem to have a similar communication in my messages, and none of the other comms I've had in the messages area mentions exit fees, except the new one I've just got as I have already initiated the switch the V4, and that says no exit fees obviously.
I was checking as Money Saving Expert says that switches from V3 to V4 have no exit fees but I can't find anything official in the Eon documentation.
I should know for sure in a few days so I'll post up what I find here for the benefit of others.
That's odd. I've just looked back at my messages and I have a tariff change message for every time I've signed-up to a new tariff. They apply the exit fees immediately in my experience (they have been doing it in error a lot recently - as happened to me) so if you've already switched and none have appeared on your account you should be ok.
